Cheer Advisors!
The Boise Noon Optimist Club, Optimist Youth Football
and The OYF Cheer Committee would like to extend our
thanks to you for volunteering and supporting the youth of Idaho.
This section of our Website is dedicated to
helping you coach our cheer participants.
We are searching for information that will assist you in leading your cheer squad. When
we come across info. that is helpful, we will post is here. Please check back
frequently for updates.

Rules
Be kind. There is no room for personal conflicts. Do not bring them to practice.
Warming Up is not optional --- you must participate in order to cheer.
Tennis shoes with socks will be worn at all times.
Never build a stunt without the coach present.
Squad members and potential squad members only at each practice.
No talking between cheers.
Hair must be worn away from the face.
No jewelry (stud style earrings only).
Wear clothing that is non-restrictive (jeans not recommended).
In order to be counted as attending, you must participate in all facets of practice.
Uniform Change!
For those who signed up at early registration.
We have had a uniform change for the 2005 cheer season!! This
year the girls will be sporting pleated cheer skirts, a cheer shell
and of course, pom poms.
We ask that the parents supply the bloomers, or boy shorts under the
uniform (matching the color of the skirt), a turtle neck to go under
the cheer shell and good athletic shoes.
Optimist Youth Cheer Guidelines:
Registration fee for the 2005 season is $70.00. The fee at late
registration, July 9th, 2005 is $80.00. The cheer participants will
keep their uniform at the end of the season.
*participants must be between the ages of 4 - 12 years
the participant must be 4 on or before August 15, 2005.
*Optimist provides, a cheer skirt, cheer shell and poms. We
ask that you provide bloomers, or boyshorts (under the skirt,
a turtle neck, and good athletic shoes. Specific colors, brands
or styles are not required.
*Hairbows, barretts, and ponytail holders matching team colors are allowed.
However, no other team apparel should be purchased without permission of
the Optimist Club. If you have questions, please refer to the
Cheer Constitution.
Cheer Camp
will be held in the summer. Dates are to be advised.
Squad placement guidelines:
* The first priority is to place siblings, and/or friends on the same team
(cheer & football). There is a section on the registration form, you must
indicate this request.
* The second priority in squad placement is determined by your
school district, closest elementary or middle school.
* The third priority is determined by the area in which you live.
Our volunteers strive to place your child(ren) on the squad of your request.
However, due to age, weight restrictions and weigh in requirements
at Jamboree, we can not guarantee team placements.
